Judith Elsea

Relationships are the lifeblood of the venture capital industry. Trusted long term relationships with Weathergage’s investors and managers have been key contributors to our success.

Judith co-founded Weathergage Capital in 2006. As a co-creator of the Kaufmann Fellows Program and with 37 years of investment experience, she has deep, longstanding personal and professional ties to the venture capital community. Her unique networks naturally put her on the front line of Weathergage’s connectedness.

Prior to Weathergage, she was a Managing Principal of Knightsbridge Advisers for five years.

Judith was Chief Investment Officer of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation from 1993 to 2001. As CIO, she directed a $2 billion globally diversified investment portfolio. She was also responsible for developing the foundation’s private equity portfolio, committing over $600 million to US early stage venture.

Judith graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in business and international management from the University of Texas and has an M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
